Okay, I didn’t have time to write this earlier so here goes… What’s wrong with this world when people in the suburbs can’t stop to help a girl out of the snowbank? All she wanted to do was get some gas… in fact, she was only five feet from the actual gas pump. That also means she was five feet away from you, filling your big soccer-mom-earth-killing-kyoto-sucking SUVs at the surrounding gas pumps watching her being stuck. Watching her drive back and forth trying to dig her own way out of the snow rut because you wouldn’t help her. Watching her grind her gears and stall after 10 minutes of frustrating back and forth snowbank maneuvers because YOU wouldn’t help her drive up the small incline to the gas pump. This means you mr and mrs suburbia. This also means you ms. condo neighbor-too-good-to-say-thank-you when your co-neighbor pushes you out of a snowbank and all that comes out of your garbage can mouth is “ughhh who parked their car there?” in a your rude valley-girl voice (note: we do not live in the valley, this is Saskatchewan; also note: that “car” was also stuck, have some compassion). What is right with this world is when two locals from the $2.50 drinks TC bar (that for all anyone knows could have been hopped up on crystal meth by the looks of the strange orange bags under their eyes) outside a girl’s office run to push her out before she could even get stuck...cigarettes in mouth and all! The kindness of these two unknown strangers, that to the rest of the world may appear daunting, surpassed that of anything offered by mr and mrs suburbia. If that’s what it takes to live in the suburbs, count me out. However, a note to those living in the suburbs, this is indeed Saskatchewan and sorry to break the news…but your suburb isn’t really a true suburb (if you have ever been to a city larger than 1 million people you will know what I am talking about) so try to act more like the kind people from Saskatchewan that we are known for across the world or please just move to Calgary, they deserve you. Amen. TrackBackTrackBack URL for this entry: Listed below are links to weblogs that reference Belated Blog:
